Usage:

- In conversation, -기는 하지만 and -기는 -지만 were shortened to -긴 하지만 and -긴 -지만. (E.g. 춤을 추긴 추지만 잘 추지 못해요.)
- The past tense form is -기는 했지만, not -았/었기는 했지만.

- 덥기는 덥지만 에어컨이 있으니까 괜찮아요.
It is very hot these days, right?
- It's hot but it is ok since I have an air conditioner.
7. 유학 조건이 좋기는 좋지만 집에서 멀리 사니까 고독해요.
Study abroad is good but it is lonely because of living far from family.
8. 지금도 그 회사에 다녀요?
- 네, 다니기는 하지만 힘들어요.
Are you still working for that company?
- Yes, I am working but I am tired.
9. 이번 여름은 정말 덥지요?
- 덥기는 덥지만 괜찮아요. 제 고향은 더 덥거든요.
This summer is really hot, right?
- It's hot but it is ok. In my hometown it is even hotter.
10. 김치찌개는 맵기는 하지만 맛있어요.
Kimchi soup is spicy but it is delicious.

- The subject of both clauses can be different.

- The subject of both clauses must be the same.
- 언니는 크기는 크지만 너무 날씬해요.
